The leader of the Socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has reacted to the statements of MP Marjana Koçeku about leaving the Socialist Party and her allegations of threats.
Asked by journalists, Balla said that any allegations of threats should be investigated by competent institutions.
"I stand in solidarity with anyone who is threatened because of their position, but we need to bring it to justice. Preliminary investigations must be conducted, even on our own initiative," he said.
Balla stated that he has not received any official notification from the MP and that until a few days ago he had no communication with her.
"I am the shepherd and you tell me that I do not have a notification for a colleague to bring a letter. Until Friday I had communication," said the leader of the socialist group.
Commenting on Koçek's departure from the ranks of the Socialists, Balla emphasized that the deputy's mandate was obtained thanks to the votes of the Socialist Party.
"Let's not forget that we have representative mandates. All of us, the SP deputies, are here because the socialists voted for us. Let them go and try it once without the fist and the rose, how they come out ," he declared.
The head of the parliamentary group refused to analyze the MP's decision, but added that she was a new figure who joined the Socialist Party after her success in another field.
"I don't do analysis for a new MP. A new MP who was invited to be part of the SP, one beautiful day after receiving a medal, said she didn't want to come to work anymore," Balla said.
Regarding Koçek's status in the parliamentary group, he said that he is awaiting official communication and that at the moment he has not received any formal confirmation of her departure.
"People should officially announce it. How do I know they haven't closed Facebook? I called them, they didn't open it for me ," said Balla.
