Vucic in anxiety, the UN General Assembly votes today on the resolution on the
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the UN

The General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) will today vote on the resolution to declare July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide.

From the announcement until the moment when it should be taken into account, the Resolution caused numerous reactions, especially stormy from Serbia.

As the representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the UN, Zlatko Lagumxhija, announced, the final version of the resolution was approved a few days ago with the inclusion of the first amendment of Montenegro and another amendment.

From the very announcement that the resolution will be reviewed at the UN, numerous and violent reactions followed from Serbia, whose officials do not want to allow "the Serbian people to be declared genocide".

Aleksandar Vučić, the president of Serbia, has made great efforts to prevent the adoption of this resolution and has warned the adoption of the resolution for Jasenovac, according to N1.

"After several rounds of comprehensive consultations, the final proposal of the International Day of Reflection and Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide 1995 Resolution, from the core inter-regional group, went to the President of the UN General Assembly and all permanent missions to the UN" , announced Lagumxhija.

Support for the resolution was expressed by all the countries of the Western Balkans, except Serbia and the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska. Their officials, despite the decisions of international courts, deny that genocide was committed in Srebrenica against Bosniaks and say that a "terrible crime" took place there.
