The whole of Serbia has been engulfed in a wave of protests under the slogan 'Wake Up Serbia'. The protests are a reaction to the brutal actions and interventions of the police at last night's rallies in Vrbas and Bačka Palanka.
But the protests were marred by numerous clashes between protesters on one side and Vučić's supporters and security forces on the other. The clashes were so frequent that the idea of a 'civil war' has been created.

Serbian media write that the issue is that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, played the role of starting the civil war, without officially announcing it, given that he sends hundreds of members of his paramilitaries, supporters, so-called loyalists, in black T-shirts and distinguishable from their clothes, to "attack" women, children and ordinary people, who protest against his corrupt government, has been particularly active in recent days.

Civil war, as a result of socio-political tensions that arose with the collapse of the tent at the Novi Sad train station and the strong protests that swept the entire country, as well as the decline in the ratings of the ruling clique and some police brutality against demonstrators, has been talked about for months.
As time passes and support for an autocratic ruler among citizens diminishes, the use of the only remaining weapon, which is hiring thugs to fight ordinary people protesting against such a government, while the police protect these thugs, is becoming increasingly apparent, writes Danas.
In most cities, SNS supporters gathered in front of party buildings ahead of protesting citizens, and in Novi Sad, protesters were shot with fireworks and Molotov cocktails.

As police cordons separated protesting citizens and SNS supporters, Vučić spoke in front of the party's premises in Savski Venec.
In Novi Beograd, protesters were stopped by a police cordon, while in Novi Sad, violent clashes were reported near the SNS offices, where pyrotechnics were thrown and windows were broken. The situation was also tense in other cities, while in Belgrade, Vučić addressed his supporters on Kneza Miloš Street.
The protests, which began in November 2024 after the tragedy at the Novi Sad railway station where 16 people lost their lives, have been ongoing for nine months under the organization of students and opposition groups.
"Tonight I am with the people who protect their own and do not harm anyone," Vučić said, adding that strange things have been happening in Novi Sad.

In New Belgrade, the situation became tense and police also fired tear gas after a clash with citizens, Nova.rs reports.
At the Constitutional Court on King Alexandra Boulevard, where the gendarmerie prevented the crowd from continuing, bottles flew, N1 reports.
As Nova.rs reports, the residents of Pančevo tried to enter the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party, but the police did not let them in. At one point, they broke through the police cordon.

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that one policeman was injured in Novi Sad and added that there may be others because, as he said, there was a massive attack.
"In other cities throughout Serbia, there are attacks on police or SNS members and citizens in front of progressive premises. The police must maintain public order and peace, we warn everyone to respect the law, charges will be brought against anyone who violates the law," Dacic said in an extraordinary speech.

Meanwhile, it is reported that masked individuals equipped with heavy weapons have attacked protesting citizens who were heading towards the Campus in Novi Sad.
