The Democratic Party of Macedonia (DP) has published a disturbing message from Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha, which raises doubts about ethics in diplomacy. It is alleged that in a communication within the Foreign Ministry, offensive expressions were used against Albanians in North Macedonia, calling them "idiots".
Recently, a message from Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha is circulating, which insults the Albanians of North Macedonia.
The communication is alleged to be in a Foreign Ministry chat group, where Hoxha refers to Albanians as “idiots.” This message has drawn strong criticism from the opposition camp.
"What are those Albanian idiots saying over there?" the published message says.
The head of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, has condemned the language used by Hoxha towards Albanians in the neighboring country. Bardhi says that Ferit Hoxha must resign immediately and any delay is unjustifiable.
"I condemn with the greatest strength and without any equivocation the scandalous and insulting statement of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, addressed to Albanians in North Macedonia.
It is unacceptable and intolerable for a high-ranking public official to refer to Albanians as "idiots". Such an attitude immediately excludes him from any public function and makes it impossible to continue exercising his duties, even for a minute longer. Even more so when it comes to the minister responsible for representing Albania in the international arena.
This irresponsible and denigrating language not only seriously violates the dignity of Albanians, but creates the conviction that we are dealing with a representative who speaks in the spirit of foreign propaganda and not in the interests of the Republic of Albania. This statement is worthy only of Nikolla Pashiqi or Vasa Çubrillovic.
Such rhetoric clearly contradicts Article 8 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania.
Ferit Hoxha must resign immediately. Any delay is unjustifiable. The Prime Minister has a political and institutional obligation to dismiss him without any hesitation and to publicly and clearly distance himself from this offensive and unacceptable language, which is reminiscent of dark rhetoric of the past against Albanians.
"Every minute more on duty is an insult to Albanians and a stain on the Republic of Albania," Bardhi wrote on Facebook.
