Here's how Trump's inauguration tickets will be distributed on January 20...
January 20 is expected to be a major world event. Donald Trump will be sworn in for the second time as president of the USA, in a grand event.
In general, the inaugurations of the presidents have been special and attracted attention, but this time the situation is different. Everyone wants to impress Trump and there is a lot of competition from all over the world to attend that ceremony.
In the past years, Albanian politicians have also become part of such events. The most recent case is that of the presence of Ilir Meta and Petri Vasili at Trump's first inauguration in 2017. But it seems that the presence there took a toll on Meta, this after the former president had paid thousands of dollars to be there and did not declare.
But how does the inauguration and ticketing process work? The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) is responsible for planning all aspects of the ceremony including ticketing. At first glance, tickets are allocated by American legislators, that is, senators or congressmen. Each representative will receive a limited number of tickets and he will distribute them to his voters in the constituencies. After the application is made on an official website, then the allocation of tickets is done. When there are many requests, legislators usually divide them by lot.
But there are also VIP tickets. Trump's team has unveiled a list of benefits for inauguration donors with packages starting at $50,000. Donors who either give $50,000 or raise $100,000 receive two tickets to a rally and reception scheduled for the Saturday before the inauguration, as well as hotel rooms and invitations to the Jan. 20 swearing-in ceremony, parade and evening ball. Only those who give $1 million or raise $2 million will receive two seats to a January 18 dinner with Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance.

Meanwhile, there are certain companies that buy the tickets. If you go online, you can see that tickets start from 1.5 thousand dollars and even range up to 10 thousand dollars when they are packages with the hotel. The price also depends on the place of stay.

So, if Albanian politicians want to participate in the ceremony, there are two ways: either lobby hard to senators and congressmen in the hope that they will give them a ticket, or pay the agencies that ensure the participation.
Trump himself has invited only a few key figures. Chinese President Xi Jinping was the first guest at the ceremony. CBS News also reported that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been invited, as well as El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentine President Javier Milei. Russia confirmed that President Vladimir Putin did not receive an invitation.
In Tirana, it is said that a great struggle is being waged to participate in that ceremony, both from SP deputies and from DP representatives. This is because we are on the eve of the elections and Albanian politics is still going on, you think that a photo with Trump can give you victory. Let's not forget that in addition to Meta, who is in prison today, Basha was also investigated for a photo with Trump. We also have the photo of Rama with Obama, where the one who arranged the meeting went to prison. / Pamphlet
