Saliu and Edi: the two eternal 'stylists' of political crime
Edi Rama and Sali Berisha /

They never part with deeds, only with words. Rama holds power, Berisha guarantees the bargain – and Albania remains trapped between two stylists who recycle each other eternally…

The greatest embarrassment that the opposition does not come to power and the government is welded to the chairs of crime, is felt by those who no longer know who to hate first. To those who ask: who is dirtier; Sali Berisha or Edi Rama? And this is not simply a moralistic question. It is a symptom. It is a reflection of a society that cannot choose, because no alternative is trusted. A society that feels itself hostage between two figures who attack each other with words and defend each other with deeds.

This collective suffering, to the extent that it is exhausted by both, lives only a day. Even just a minute. As long as they have to fill out the ballot, fold it and push it into the box with their finger. Then, they continue their life in the swamp under the eyeball, where everything is slime and every thought of change turns into a silent sigh. And the only drainage channel is the desire for a savior. A doctor. A figure who does not come from the party, but from the depths of collective despair. But he is no longer seen either.

Because one is dirty, the other is dirty. But the eyes, out of inertia, out of habit, out of lack of hope, are fixed on the opposition. That is where salvation is sought. That is where change is projected. And that is exactly where the heaviest blow occurs. The candidacy of the scum of society for deputies, of people who are an eyesore and a wound in the soul for Albanians, has reduced the credibility of the opposition to painful levels. It has even helped to clean up the dirty government of Edi Rama, creating a disgusting illusion that "better the one who is stealing cattle than those who will steal like beasts".

Because the evil that has gripped all Albanians has gained ground. And today, not LaCivita, but even Jesus Christ himself, would have a hard time stopping this machine that grinds votes like raw meat to feed the naive hopes of a defenseless people. Because we all know, we half-heartedly accept, that Edi Rama defeated the opposition with the help of Sali Berisha. There is no doubt about this. The government has neither strategy, nor vision, nor other goal than to hold on at all costs. But the opposition gave it weapons. It gave it reason. It gave it the confrontation that made it the winner by the very fact that it was less disgusting in comparison.

The candidacy of thieves with voice and image, of individuals with open files, is the scandal that Sali Berisha has turned into a strategy. Because there is no longer a problem of power, there is a problem of wealth. And the surest way to preserve it is to keep Rama in power, as the best guarantor of the status quo. All this that is happening is no longer a game. It is an agreement. Implemented with an iron fist by two political pit bulls, who were once raised in the same American cage: Soros and McGonigal. Today, they play the role of enemies, but they do not let each other fall.

Because they know that the fall of one will drag the other down. Berisha and Rama are two ends of the same canvas. They attack each other to give the people the illusion of conflict. But in actions, in silent agreements, in implicit bargains, they protect each other without any dilemma. They have divided the stage well: one screams for morality, the other for stability. But both are just actors performing on the catwalks of a politics that is perfumed with Western deodorant and dressed in the costume of Eastern morality. And under the costume? Lice.

The voters are the only ones who are burned. Because both sheikhs light fires between social groups, the poor against the middle class, the outcasts against the citizens, and then come to put them out themselves, just to justify staying in power. Because only in chaos is the lack of rotation justified. And this time, like every other time, both of them won power. Rama took the chair, Berisha took the market. And so it goes.

In the end, Saliu and Edi remain two eternal stylists of political crime. Accustomed to buying everything: from wealth to silence. And today they also buy each other's salvation. This is the reality. And every honest vote that falls into the box is simply a decoration for a play that has been written for a long time. And that has no other end, except mockery of hope. / Pamphlet
