The airing of a Turkish alla telenovela about the complex love-hate emotions of Ilir Meta with his wife Monika has brought attention only because the media gives it to him.
It is no coincidence that the two "separated pigeons" have prime-time on the country's main televisions, while this country has so many problems.
It is the old and new threads of the criminal spider that connect the power of Ilir Meta with the media conglomerates, in a part of which he also has his own shares, which enables him to be in the headlines of the day.
The wanderings of the former president through the bars and the delusions spread on the network, may be the result of the advice of twisted consultants, of the type of Sazan Guri or other mythomaniacs, that Ilir Meta has kept close, financed and supported all these years. He chose them for pragmatism, or because he also belongs to this genre, this is of little importance and the public doesn't even care at all. Every man is responsible for his muzzle.
But what seems too much for the public, which has been longing for the country to get rid of the old caste, is the elaborate telenovela of the broken relations of the spouses Meta and Kryemadhi.
Although some observers are comparing it to the Netflix series: "House of Cards", where the man clashes with the woman for the White House; or some others with a melancholic Turkish telenovela, this is nothing but a "Ballshi variety show".
A metaphor used in communism for those amateur troupes that had 10 songs and a comedy skit in the show. So a metaphor that shows a show that is not only weak, but rather boring and irritating.
What is more evocative in this tragi-comedy without salt, is precisely the hypocrisy that this dominant couple has been serving to people for 33 years. It is even more serious than the insulting and arrogant behavior, when they occupied the prime minister's office with scrappers and peasants from the Peshkopia Strike.
Just look at the behavior of Ilir Meta to "condemn" nepotism in his party. A cynicism so serious that it insults the intelligence of Albanians in the most unscrupulous way, or as Muslim Murrizi cynically says, they also insult our ignorance...
Because Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi are epic characters in Albania, who more than anyone else in 100 years of statehood, have raised, established and supported nepotism as a determining concept of governance in this country.
The nepotism that Meta-Kryemadhi installed then turned into an unwritten institution or law. Where from the standard of the dictatorship that people from the same family were not allowed in an enterprise, it turned to governance with family, tribe, krushki or fellow villagers.
Ilir Meta, when he was prime minister, put his entire family in key positions in the administration, but also in important positions of power in the country. Ministers like Mustafa Muçi, with close ties to Ilir Meta, led the most important department in the country, that of natural resources. His uncle was appointed ambassador to Greece, exactly at the time when Ilir Meta carried out two spectacular economic operations, giving Athens the two most important assets of the Albanian economy.
Namely: the first mobile phone license in Albania, that is, AMC gave it to the Greek company Cosmote. At a time that a few months ago, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder came to Tirana, and requested that AMC be given to Deutsche Telekom, as had happened throughout the region.
But it didn't end there, Meta gave the Greeks the second mobile license in the country.
To put it in the context of the time, then Albanians had a vital need for mobile communication, as the fixed analog network was destroyed, and the usage prices were the highest in Europe.
According to officially distributed statistics, it was said that every year 250 million euros of profit of Greek mobile companies were transferred to Greece.
But, of course, all these are lies, as the appropriation of the country's assets reached frightening proportions.
The essence lies in the fact that Ilir Meta's Thesis: "family business is not political business" is a big joke.
Of course, Ilir Meta makes this quixotic war against nepotism because he clearly knows that Albanians hate and will not respect his party, more than this fact.
And instead of a feeling and a deep reflection, perhaps not with sincerity but with cold logic, Ilir Meta chooses a disgusting theater, where he attacks Monika as an "internal enemy". As if the Albanians put Monika in charge of LSI.
Therefore, this mockery is more serious than the arrogance, swagger and cackle of 33 years of unbridled luxury. This greedy person may have 'gone away', but his heart is small, very small, black and stone like the rocks of Tomorr that he destroyed with stones./ Pamphlet
