The deputy head of the entrepreneurship department in the Democratic Party, Blerina Gjyriqi, through a statement from the blue headquarters, said that the European currency during the year 2024, the euro, has reached its minimum.
According to Djyriq, currently the euro is exchanged in our foreign exchange market at 98.3 ALL, a drastic decrease compared to not long ago.
According to PD, this is bankrupting businesses that have contracts in euros, with the costs that have increased in the market.

The common European currency has suffered a significant devaluation in Albania for several years, but during 2024 the euro reached the minimum.
Currently, the euro stands at 98.3 ALL in our foreign exchange market, a drastic drop compared to not long ago.
Businesses with contracts in euros are reporting higher costs and less revenue, something that has increased the pressure to survive in the market.
Most have chosen to sacrifice profit margin to remain competitive. Individuals have also been affected by this decline: about 51% of those who receive salaries in euros confirm that they have been negatively affected since their expenses are in Lek.
Even businesses that export goods have suffered a decline, by over 14.3% compared to a year ago.
The strongest decline has been experienced by the mining and energy industries, and especially the clothing and footwear industry, known as fashion industry.
Most businesses, both manufacturing and exporting, have gone bankrupt and others are on the verge of bankruptcy.
All this has led to an increase in unemployment: according to INSTAT, we have a 5% job loss, but from our data, this number is higher than 10,000 employees, referring only to the fashion industry.
The most affected group are businesses that had less than 100 employees.
The effect is the same for the tourism sector whose contracts are in euros.
This burdensome situation on these industries puts the Albanian economy in a big deadlock as it has a negative economic and social impact.
In April 2024, VKM was approved for an aid package for businesses in crisis, but with a limited execution deadline (only one month) September-October 2024, limiting access to applications.
Even in this case, like all government jobs, this is just for facade, to shut up businesses.
The devaluation of the euro does not at all reflect a strengthening of the local currency, on the contrary, it is the result of filling the market with uncontrolled black finance, which is destroying any economic balance.
The fall of the euro and the lack of reaction are related to the fact that the government is paying off a cheaper public debt.
The large amount of uncontrolled money and the state's inability or unwillingness to control it are disrupting the economic balance, destroying Albania's future.
The business believes that the Bank of Albania and the Government should intervene urgently to stabilize the exchange rate.
The Democratic Party, in support of business and a healthy national economy, requires immediate measures to be taken from fiscal facilities to interventions that stop the artificial fall of the euro.
Minister Balluku does not need to show off in fashion for the next advertisement, but to take immediate measures and respond to the demands of businesses, as they are the promoters of the country's development.
