Economy expert Eduart Gjokutaj commented on the polls which show the assessment of the Albanian citizens about the situation in the country.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that he was more impressed by the survey about the economy, since according to him, the year 2023 was the grayest year.
He said that this year inflation has continued at high rates while many businesses are heading towards bankruptcy. He also said that the bankruptcy of these companies is the "locomotive" that will take other businesses with it during 2024.
" The economic situation in 2023 is the grayest possible situation. It is the conclusion of high inflation, which continued at high rates. Disruption of business chains, such as production and exporters, that are already on the verge of bankruptcy.
They are locomotives, because from the back they have businesses that are intertwined, and on the other hand, a certain part of the families, especially the agricultural sector, which, if we look at it from an economic point of view, has no contribution to the economy" , said Gjokutaj.
