The head of the Democratic Party almost held a real-time duel with Gaz Bardhi in the Dibër district this weekend. The two sides have talked about unification, but each side has gathered its own. Which as of September 2022 are already field groups working against each other.
Both Basha and Bardhi use the rhetoric of unification, on a divided ground, even tougher than the one in the center. Add here that the existence of people militating in the opposition, without any reward of power, irritates the ground even more, and makes it more fertile for games or lobbies that, more than a real scan of the electorate, deceive in a virtual way their potential strength .
The situation is quite different because the two parties give it. Lulzim Basha, has behind him a surviving structure of the DP from the vicious attack of the pulpit for all this time. Structure, which has preserved some kind of regularity of the basis of the DP, but with one particularity. All or most of this structure is anti-Berisë in the political sense of the word, but more so it is against the group of deputies representing Gazment Bardhi. The members of the PD sections in the 61 municipalities of the country, which are led by the heads of the branches, not only do not want them, but have shown the place to these deputies in time.

From the electoral side, this formation, together with Ilir Meta's PL, suffered a spectacular political collapse on May 14, 2023.
But who can join and why? In reality, we are not dealing with two parties, we are dealing with two groups that want to take back the party that Sali Berisha destroyed, but also the long-standing opposition.
These two parts can never unite with each other, as they have fought to annihilation for several years.
For the pulpit, as it was shown on May 14, the battle is very difficult, since even if they take with them the 4.5 percent of Basha DP voters who never get it, they will still remain on the margins, and very soon they will go to a melt alla carbide in water.
This political party, even if it takes not Gaz Bardhi, but also completely new figures, will never be able to touch the gray electorate, because they have Sali Berisha as their president, who is really the political symbol of the party. And this is also given by the polls that the publicists are excited about.
Meanwhile, Lulzim Basha, if he wants a union, he will have to look for it with those people whom the DP has driven away over the years, with the voters who abandoned the "Union for Victory" on May 14, 2023 and not with the weak and rootless structures in basis of the Reestablishment.
But here Lulzim Basha's challenge is greater than before, even greater when he made the decision of his life; the exclusion of Sali Berisha from the DP parliamentary group. To present to the people, in fact to form once, the group that will represent the DP in the next elections. Even the best of the best, it would be to field a reserve team that could be the team for the municipalities in the next elections.
Of course, together with a program, a clear political and economic plan, and not sophistry or lady movements to show that they are in the field. Lulzim Basha, if he is going to do electoral reform, he will have to do it with only one factor: the Socialist Party. And for this reason, he has to dialogue, confront and discuss without stopping until he reaches an accord for an accepted variant. Or, make no compromise, but propose a popular referendum to overthrow the current system. With a single question: are you in favor of overthrowing the current electoral system and replacing it with a national proportional system? Here to fight the battle of life, and if this gets consensus, even in polls that can be encouraged with its mechanisms, it has won the battle. It has united the electorate, leaving behind those structures that not only have no intention, but will never unite...
