Gantz has recently called for a commission of inquiry into the mass Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 and the war in Gaza that followed. Netanyahu is afraid of the investigation, and is trying to defend himself. So he goes to Washington for support.
Israel's prime minister will soon address a joint session of Congress and the Senate "as a strong show of support for the Tel Aviv government in its hour of greatest need," announced House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson.
With some differences, Biden has always supported Israel's war strategy. But it is certain that Bibi's speech on Capitol Hill will anger many Democrats, according to whom many "red lines" have been crossed with impunity in this war.
The investigative commission requested by Gantz, with the aim of examining all the events related to October 7, the war and the decision-making process at the political and military level, confirms the deep division that exists at the head of the government of the Jewish state, after almost 8 months of war and the killing of over 35,000 Palestinian civilians, 2/3 of them women and children.
So the revolt against the man who is massacring tens of thousands of innocents in revenge for Hamas is expanding. For months, generals and ministers in Israel have been spreading rumors in the local media that the government lacks a coherent (and successful) strategy in Gaza, especially because the mission to defeat Hamas has failed, and will never be accomplished. successfully, without dramatic consequences.

But Gantz is rightly skeptical of the current head of the Palestinian Authority, the discredited 88-year-old Mahmoud Abbas. Joe Biden is aiming to create a new authority that includes the Palestinians but excludes Hamas, and in which Americans, Europeans and Arabs will be present, and for Israel to still maintain a strong presence there through the IDF- of (a permanent military occupation?) to preserve that barren strip of land on the Mediterranean.
This hypothesis would rely on a broad agreement in the Middle East sponsored by America, but only after a "normalization" of relations between Israel and the Saudis, with the blessing of Jordan. In any case, if Netanyahu remains in power and continues to rule driven by strategies of war and endless destruction, any escalation of the situation and ceasefire would remain a mirage.
For this reason, not only Israelis, but the whole world, without any sense of guilt regarding false accusations of anti-Semitism, is awaiting the political end of Bibi and the marginalization of the hyper-Zionist extreme right (that is, those who would like to they also used the nuclear bomb to completely flatten Gaza).
