Once again for increasing pensions
Rama and Kurti

After the 2024 increases that come into effect in October 2024, the average pension level in Albania is about 42.5% lower than in Kosovo.

In Kosovo, which was the last country in the Western Balkans that had not increased pensions for 2024, Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced yesterday the increase of all types of pensions by 20%, which is about 5 times higher than the increase of 4.1% that Prime Minister Edi Rama did for Albania's pensioners.

The increase of 20% brought the minimum pension for Kosovar pensioners who have not paid contributions for their pension to the level of 120 euros per month, while the average pension increased by about 38 euros, bringing it from 190 euros to 228 euros per month.

This increase in the level of pensions increases even more the difference between the level of pensions in Kosovo, which is considered the poorest country in the region, and the level of pensions in Albania, which has the most successful government for increasing the state budget. After the 2024 increases that take effect in October 2024, the average pension level in Albania is about 42.5% lower than in Kosovo.

Meanwhile:

The average pension in North Macedonia is 250% of the average pension in Albania.

The average pension in Montenegro is 280% of the average pension in Albania.

The average pension in Serbia is 270% of the average pension in Albania.

The average pension in Bosnia & Herzegovina is 210% of the average pension in Albania.

According to INSTAT data, it is predicted that the increase in income from social insurance contributions for 2024 will be over 100 million euros compared to last year, while the total increase in budget income is expected to be over 700 million euros compared to last year 2023.

From these increases in income, the Albanian government decided to provide about 17 million euros for the increase in pensions and 5 million euros for agriculture and livestock farming, which is one of the most priority sectors for the development of the country and which covers about 50% of the population. of the country.

Perhaps in the last three months the Rama government will make another real increase in pensions, so as not to leave Albania far behind other countries in the region!!!
