180 countries are enrolled in the 2022 corruption perception index (CPI), where Albania, unlike a year ago, has improved by one country. From the index, Albania has progressed to 36 points out of 35 points, which it had collected the previous year. On the face of it, that's good news, because things haven't worsened against the global average, which has remained unchanged for more than a decade in 43 of the 100 countries enrolled here. But the news in this index is that a full 155 countries have made no significant progress against corruption or have declined since 2012.

In a stratigraphic analysis that he does, he realizes that these tenders themselves are a problem, not to mention that they are fictitious according to economic analysts.
But, they are the same ones that in different segments are shaking the Albanian state and are showing a phenomenon, which is everywhere in Eastern Europe today: the inadequate confrontation with corruption. In many parts of Eastern Europe, as in Albania, bribery remains almost endemic. This perhaps explains to some extent the unbridled luxury of our apparatchiks, the expensive cars we have in front of our eyes and the way of life that some of the people who have dealt with the administration have had.

When you look at the barrenness of ideas for the revival of the DP, the largest opposition party, you realize how easy it is for the government and all those who feed corruption to maintain this state of affairs. And so it happens that a story with the DP lasts for days and days, while corruption cases are "forgotten" for almost 24 hours.
