The game that Berisha is playing, as if he is seeking the exclusion of the judge, who in fact suspiciously granted him freedom from house arrest, contrary to the decision of the Constitutional Court, is old.
It is clear that at least the two trials involving Sali Berisha and Fatmir Mediu will be postponed indefinitely until after May 11th.
Berisha's preliminary trial for the Partizani club has broken all records for postponement. A trial that has nothing to do with the substance of the case, but with the communication of the preliminary security measure and the decision to move to the trial court, is entering its seventh month.
The judges, who seem to be in complete agreement with Berisha's lawyers, pretend to respect the procedural tricks of the lawyers who regularly "fall ill" every time there is a court session, breaking a historical record of seven months.
Today it was postponed again, after Berisha requested the dismissal of the judge who released him from house arrest. And this is yet another sign that we are dealing with a "war game" with mutual approval, to bypass May 11th.
The same story is happening with Fatmir Mediu. He spends more time in the US than in Albania, to show the judges that if they convicted him, they are dealing with Trump, thus trivializing their minimal intellect, as he treats them as if they were Flamur Noka.
Now he has even taken on the role of translator for LaCivita live on Berisha's screens, while LaCivita has not yet registered with FARA, where lobbyists for foreign agents in the US register and where they declare every expense.
And this is an opportunity to add a criminal investigation to Fatmir Mediu, which he has publicly taken over – although in reality we know that Paul Manafort, the Kremlin's man in Washington, has taken over.
Even his trial will end after May 11, precisely because of this "American gangster" behavior on screen.
It's not that we're in any hurry — let them finish after May 11 — because there's no debate about the deadline, nor about the impatience for them to be convicted. If they deserve innocence, let them get it, but not by openly demonstrating the fear that the GJKKO has towards them.
The debate is about the politicization of the GJKKO and the two different standards they use, when they have imprisoned senior government officials and put them in prison since they were persons under investigation, without any charges at all, and the fear they have of making decisions about two opposition leaders before the elections.
The game that Berisha is playing, as if he is seeking the exclusion of the judge, who in fact suspiciously granted him freedom from house arrest, contrary to the decision of the Constitutional Court, is old.
It's more or less like the game with Olsi Dado, who pretended to curse him a week before arresting Erion Veliaj, to show that he's not his man. Or the month-long campaign against Altin Duami, because Veliaj had hired his wife's uncle's son in the Municipality.
Same with this. He is using the GJKKO and SPAK the same way he uses bandits, whom he makes give daily evidence that they are in his favor, by killing or raping his opponents. He has also put them on trial to serve him, so that he can pardon them after May 11th.
The thing is that after May 11th he will be in worse times than today, and these people will surely condemn him. But as beings humiliated by him, not as judges and prosecutors.
