Do you know how many reports the government made to SPAK? Zero reports on taxes, customs, concessions, do you mean that the government has its affairs and there is no need to report anything. While the arrests of the last few days at the local and central level showed that today there is no preventive system for corruption.
That there is no filter, where public officials with public positions, but without public contributions and without political contribution, create companies, receive tenders, receive concessions, receive construction permits, give favors to their families and use the state budget as their personal ATM. Of course, this happens with political will, with political disobedience, but it shows that the system has failed.
It shows that the audit, the control over all the filters with what happens to the public finances have not worked. For this reason, we need a new approach to fight systemic corruption, this endemic corruption that is eroding every cell of government.
We need a new way, a new approach starting from basic laws to more specific ones. To start from the fields of procurement, taxes, concessions, property and cadastre, with all those sectors that provide services, and at the center of this struggle, the parliament should be placed. I have no faith that those who go to SPAK every day can fight corruption.
