The Turin police have destroyed a criminal group run by Albanians, which was involved in drug trafficking and exploitation of prostitution.
The investigation began with the discovery of a marijuana plantation in San 'Raffaele Cimena' in October 2021, where a 49-year-old Albanian was arrested and the discovery of the entire group was made possible by checking his phone.
The judge ordered that five people be remanded in custody: three gang members were asked to sign and a further accomplice was banned from staying in the city of Turin. Investigators identified two main supply channels, starting from Calabria and Albania. The investigation also shed light on the activity of exploitation and prostitution, which was run by three Albanian brothers aged 29, 34 and 36 and a 44-year-old Moldovan woman, who ended up in prison.
They were also joined by the 'drivers' of the prostitutes, who accompanied them to the streets where the customers would be waiting, especially Corso Giulio Cesare and Via Reiss Romoli. At the head of the organization was DS, 34 years old:
The 44-year-old Moldovan and her partner were responsible for managing the reception, sexual services and expenses for the management of the apartments. The woman also made online appointments, collecting responses to advertisements posted on several online dating sites.
The level of exploitation was high: the 'window display' at night on the street was also accompanied by advertisements published on various websites. And so the calls could arrive at any moment and go through the 44-year-old Moldovan, who at the time was responsible for alerting the prostitutes to the arrival of customers.
A situation that forced the girls to always be ready, not without difficulties. "Even I have to rest at least two or three hours a day," complained one of the prostitutes in a wiretapped phone call. However, the 44-year-old's response was dry: 'Did you sleep? Now put on your makeup and get ready now someone will come in 30 minutes.'
