These are the images of the operation of the Guardia di Finanza in the port of Livorno and the Customs agency, for the seizure of a shipment of at least 148 kg of cocaine that came camouflaged inside a container load of bananas, coming from Ecuador by ship.
The action was carried out as the 3 Albanian suspects went to pull the cargo divided into 139 packages and on top of the natriban with the logos of well-known fashion companies.
The footage shows the agents of two specialized Italian law enforcement agencies, as they are placed in the container where the cargo was located, they remove the packages of cocaine one by one to keep the criminal procedural protocol of the case. Next to them are also representatives of the investigation group.
The cargo is extracted from the top of the container, inside a secret chamber.
The three Albanian drug couriers who illegally entered the industrial port of Livorno, to receive the goods sent by order from Guayaquil and whose final destination was Switzerland.
The couriers, as "Il Tirreno" reports, were arrested by the financial police and are now in prison in Livorno. Fiamme Gialle acted on the basis of alerts shared with the Customs Agency. A scanner identified 139 packages inside, as it took several hours to set up the trap and catch whoever came to collect the load. The couriers did not resist and were arrested. The suspects had no documents and two of them are brothers. The court of Livorno confirmed the seizure and arrests. The operation dates back to being launched a few weeks ago, while the arrival of the cargo was awaited.
This is also considered the biggest cocaine seizure in recent years in the port of Livorno, in the Tuscan region.
