The father of Egli Proga, the 42-year-old who was allegedly raped to death by the 29-year-old Denis Meçe in district No. 1 of the city of Pogradec, has narrated the last meeting with his son 1 hour before he passed away.
"I talked to the good-looking boy in our bar and left for home. After 1 hour, they inform me to go to the hospital and there I find the boy dead", he said.
Nazmi Proga confessed that his son left the bar owned by them and went to the bar of another citizen, where he was raped.
He raised questions about who took his son out of the bar and into the street.
"The problem is that the guy from my bar entered another bar and here I don't know if they called him or he went by himself. The crime was committed in that bar, and we don't know who took the boy out of the bar, did he go out by himself or did others take him out to save themselves or to cover up the crime", said Nazmi Proga.
The victim's father asked for justice for his son, stressing that he is disappointed with the police, as they did not want the truth to come out, saying that the boy fell by himself and was late to the scene.
"On the day the accident happened, I was with the boy an hour ago. I talked to the nice guy at our bar and left for home. After 1 hour they inform me to go to the hospital and there I find the boy dead.
The problem is that the guy from my bar entered another bar and here I don't know if they called him or he went by himself. The crime was committed in that bar, and the boy we don't know who took him out of the bar, he went out himself or others took him out to save themselves or to cover up the crime. Let the truth come out about who hit him, he didn't fall down and he didn't have a heart attack, who killed him, the state will bring it out.
I am disappointed with the police, they did not want the truth to come out, saying that the boy fell on his own, being late to the scene and the ambulance was late.
After sending him to the hospital, the police tried to lie again, saying that he fell, not telling the truth, that he was beaten and killed by criminals, ordinary people.
To act justice, to be cleansed of elements that are not able to do the job. We have started a criminal process ourselves while the truth comes out. I had a son, I raised him with hard work and sweat, he had two children to raise, he left his wife a widow with troubles and problems. I don't want this conversation to end in vain. Dot the i", said Nazmi Proga.
