
A 22-year-old man from Laçi, who was wanted by Italian justice for kidnapping and violent theft, was arrested today.
Daniel Gjoni was arrested as part of the coded police operation "Continues", developed by Fast Albania.
It is learned that Gjoni, in collaboration with other people, stole sums of money from some teenagers by using violence against them. Thus, they kidnapped a citizen and demanded a large sum of euros in exchange for his release.
"In the wake of successive operations carried out by the special unit for the capture of wanted citizens "FAST Albania", a unit in the Directorate of the Special Operational Force in the State Police, based on police intelligence, in cooperation with the Kurbin Police Station, was the arrest of the national wanted internationally, D. Gj., 22 years old, resident of Laç.
After the checks carried out between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome, the 22-year-old was arrested, with the aim of extraditing him to Italy.
On 29.09.2023, this citizen was declared an international wanted by Interpol Rome, for the criminal offenses "Kidnapping" and "Theft with violence", committed in cooperation, repeatedly, after the Court of Preliminary Investigations in Milan, Italy, has set for this citizen, the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the aforementioned criminal offenses.
This citizen in August 2023, in Cassano d'Adda and Vaprio d'Adda, in collaboration with other citizens, stole sums of money from some teenagers using violence against them.
They also kidnapped a citizen and demanded a large sum of euros in exchange for his release. "Interpol Tirana is following the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy," the police announced.
