
Two people have been arrested and two others have been declared wanted as part of the 'Group' operation, conducted by the Korça anti-drugs unit and the city's prosecutor's office.
The operation hit a group that was cultivating cannabis in the village of Polovisht, Maliqi, and the quantity was then trafficked.
The produced narcotics were stored in the village of Voskop, Korça, where the drying and processing process was carried out, with the aim of transporting them to the Greek state.
The arrested are Leonard Xhemollari and Gentian Muço, who according to the police had the role of financier in the criminal activity.
Meanwhile, Rexhildo Berberi and Abidin Guraj, whom the police consider to be the organizers of the narcotics trafficking, have been declared wanted.
The official announcement states that during the search conducted in the apartment of citizen Rexhildo Berberi, who was declared wanted, on the first floor of the building, an environment adapted for vehicle modification was discovered.
"As part of the operation, two financiers of cannabis cultivation were arrested, specifically citizens L. XH., 45 years old, resident of Maliq, and GM, 48 years old, resident of Korça, and citizens RB, 42 years old, and AG, 35 years old, resident of Korça, organizers of cannabis trafficking in four cases previously hit by the Police, were declared wanted:
The event of 08.06.2025, where citizen VB was arrested in flagrante delicto, who was caught with 6 kg of narcotics suspected of heroin, at the Kapeshtica checkpoint;
The incident of 25.04.2024, where citizens K. SH. and HM were arrested, who were caught with a quantity of 12.5 kg of narcotics, suspected to be cannabis;
The event of 23.09.2023, where citizen KK was arrested, in the city of Pogradec, with a quantity of 52.6 kg of narcotics, cannabis;
The event of 27.11.2023, where citizens LL and SP were arrested, and a quantity of 26 kg of narcotics was seized in the Greek state.
All four of these citizens are suspected of having, in collaboration with each other, cultivated narcotic plants in the village of Polovisht-Maliq and stored them in the village of Voskop, Korça, where the drying and processing process was carried out, and then transported to the Greek state.
The operation continues to identify and document the involvement of other persons implicated in this criminal event.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action, for the criminal offenses "Production and sale of narcotics", "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Trafficking in narcotics", the Police announced.
