A 35-year-old man was arrested in Durrës on suspicion of having stolen electrical cables from street lighting poles at various times, leaving several segments in the dark.
In order to arrest the 35-year-old, the police even organized a coded operation, which is usually applied to capture high-risk individuals.
But it seems that the cable thief has also been assessed as 'very dangerous' by the police, who announce that they have successfully finalized the "Light" operation, arresting citizen Amaraldo Vezi. Perhaps, in order to capture the latter, more time was spent finding a name for the 'operation' than in arresting the 35-year-old.
"From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen is the author of a series of thefts of electrical cables, which occurred in various areas of the city, in the territory of the Durrës Local Police Directorate.
Investigative actions continue for the full legal documentation of these events, as well as for the identification of other possible thefts committed by this citizen.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further procedural actions," the police announced.
