Julian Meçaj, one of the former members of the Durrës gang, was recently arrested in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Mecaj is wanted by SPAK, as being implicated in the assassination of prosecutor Ndoj
Julian Meçe is one of the people interrogated in connection with the assassination of Prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, in November 2019, who was then released.
Meçe is suspected to be one of the initiators of the event, as the perpetrators were paid and are suspected to be from the north of the country.

On June 20, 2019, Julian Meçaj and Dervishaj were assassinated on the Tirana-Durres highway, where both were injured as a result.
Plarent Dervishaj, 47 years old, is Lul Berisha's brother-in-law, while 36-year-old Meçaj is a member of his gang, the Durrës gang. The incident took place in the area of the former swamp, near the Shkozeti overpass, in Durrës, where the two injured were riding in Dervishaj's car.
Mecaj received three bullets in the body, while Plarent Dervishaj received a bullet in the leg.
Bashkim Haxhija, their friend, was also inside the Rande Rover type car, the only one arrested for this incident as he is accused of firing a gun at the perpetrators.
