Journalist Artan Hoxha commented on the Europol report regarding Albanian organized crime. Hoxha said that a good part of the events in Albania stem from activity outside Albania or the problems that have been brought inside the territory.
He indicated that the investigation by the German authorities has revealed that the killers of ex-policeman Santiago Malko more than 10 years ago came from Germany.
" Investigation related to the Duka clan and the 2019 assassination attempt on Santiago Malko. What emerges from the investigation is that there was someone very close to Ervis Martinaj, even a key in solving his problems, so there was such a large group of perpetrators for his elimination. Until now, Teta and Selmani have been tried, the rest of 7 people, including 2 Duke brothers, are on trial, and are outside the territory. It was an event that made a lot of noise because it happened after the event in Bllok, where Martinaj himself was injured, which was the event that served as an indication for the closure of gambling establishments in Albania. In August, the assassination of Malko was carried out, on the day the event took place, a group of 9 people, including the Duka brothers, were in a bar. According to the decisions given by the court, after leaving the bar, this group moved in several cars. At the same time, an investigation was carried out by the German authorities and they discovered that a group of 6 people, all German citizens, three of them of Albanian origin, entered Albania 5 days before the incident. According to the German authorities, the murder was committed by these people" , said Hoxha in an interview for Euronews Albania
