The photo of 27-year-old Ramadan Haxhiaj, who raped, tied and gave medicine to his 19-year-old girlfriend to abort the child she was carrying, has been published.
The young Albanian was arrested in the place called Cilivi by the police of the Ionian island, after according to the complaint in his address, he raped, held hostage and forced 19-year-old Athina Marula to have an abortion.
The police say that Haxhiaj and Marulas had an intimate relationship, the result of which was the latter's pregnancy.
Initially, the couple lived together for some time, but it seems that disagreements also started, so Marulas decided to leave the apartment and live with her parents.
A few days later, Haxhiaj went to her apartment and took Marulana with his vehicle and they went to the apartment in Cilivi.
There, after an argument, he asked the 19-year-old to stay in the apartment, but she refused. Offended by the refusal, he tied the victim's hands and feet with ropes and after raping her, forced her to take two pills to abort the child. Within a few minutes, the young woman lost her child, who according to the medical examiner was 6-8 weeks old.
Due to the uncontrolled failure, the bleeding was profuse, which forced the author to take the victim to the hospital.
But even there, after taking the phone, Haxhiaj threatened the victim not to tell the doctors and the police.
Everything became clear after the intervention of doctors who reported the case to the police and the author was put in handcuffs. There he claimed that he had committed the macabre act because, according to him, he did not want the child, the product of his relationship with the 19-year-old, to be born.
The social service immediately took the victim into protection, while the perpetrator will be sent to court with charges of violence, wounding, forced termination of pregnancy and hostage taking. Criminal offenses considered serious type punishable by imprisonment for more than 7 years.
