Suspected of ordering a murder, he will return to Albania, his country of birth, after living in Britain for two years.
Lorenc Lala, 48, claimed to be a beekeeper when he was arrested in June last year, after Albanian authorities tracked him down in the UK and issued an arrest warrant for his extradition.
He is alleged to have paid the sum of £42,000 for the murder of Albi Bashaliu in revenge for the murder of another person in the village of Gjocaj. Bashaliu was in a vehicle when he was shot dead in 2021.
Lala has left Albania for Britain, aiming for a safer location, outside the reach of the European Arrest Warrant.
He traveled by air in August 2023 with his wife, who later applied for a skilled care worker visa.
Lala appeared today at Westminster Magistrates' Court, where he consented to his extradition from the United Kingdom to Albania.
He was warned that his extradition agreement was irrevocable, but gave his consent, avoiding a full two-day hearing.
Lala stood in the dock wearing a gray jumpsuit and spoke through an Albanian translator.
District Judge Sam Goozee told him: “You have now consented to extradition to Albania.”
I will now refer the matter to the Secretary of State [Home Secretary] for an order for your extradition. You have no right of appeal against this.
"Once the Secretary of State has made her decision, arrangements will be made for you to leave for Albania. For the time being, you will be held in custody," the judge said.
Lala's wife attended a hearing last July, but was not in court today.
In December 2021, he was first wanted by Albanian authorities. He was suspected of conspiracy to commit murder with other accomplices. His role was to provide the criminal group with means of transportation, as well as weapons. His role was important.

The murder was committed as part of an organized crime group. This is in the context of a blood feud in Albania.
"The defendant has no previous convictions in Albania. He has a clean criminal record."
He has spent short periods in Greece and Italy. He has a clean record in these countries, as well as in the United Kingdom, where he arrived in August 2023.
The exact way he came to this country is that his partner applied for a skilled worker visa to work in the care field.
They traveled together. Albanian border forces provided this information on August 3, 2023.
His wife began the process of applying for a skilled worker visa in May 2025.
Their story is that they came to this country to seek economic improvement. She enjoys skilled labor status and the defendant is here as her dependent.'
The defendant has three children, including a young baby. He worked as a delivery driver.
He previously worked as a beekeeper in the agricultural sector in Albania, using cow feed on rented land. He was also a hotel manager there,” writes the Daily Mail .
