Theft worth 1 million pounds, who are the 5 Albanian "hawks" who

Five Albanian men and a British woman have admitted their role in a series of thefts worth around £1 million across the United Kingdom.

Endrit Nikolli, 27, Kristian Gropcaj, 30, Gjergj Lleshaj, 31, Krisjian Dedndreaj, 28, and Sidorjan Lleshi, 26, all pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of criminal property during hearings at Chester Crown Court.

Nikolli and Lleshi also admitted another charge of burglary, committed in Staffordshire in March 2024 and December 2023.

Meanwhile, Jade Tubb, 33, pleaded guilty to possession of criminal property.

The investigation into the gang began in October 2024 when detectives were made aware of a series of burglaries across the east Cheshire area, including incidents in Macclesfield, Prestbury, Weston and Willaston.

In each case, the perpetrators used ladders to gain entry through windows and balconies. Once inside, they looted the property, stealing jewelry, designer handbags, watches, and cash.

Following collaboration between Derbyshire Police, Nottinghamshire Police and Staffordshire Police, detectives from Macclesfield were able to link the Cheshire incidents to several others across the UK through shoe marks left at the scene.

Officers discovered that a red Ford Focus, which was insured in Gropcaj's name, had been present during most of the incidents. They also discovered that a rental car taken from Tubb had been used during many of the other thefts.

Gropcaj was then subjected to phone checks, which revealed that he had been in regular contact with Nikolli, Dedndreaj and Lleshaj. Further investigation revealed that the four men met regularly at a café in Birmingham's jewellery district.

In addition, officers were also able to establish that Tubb was in a relationship with Nicole.

Traces of DNA from Nicholls were also found at the scene of a burglary in Staffordshire.

Dedndreaj was not caught at first, but was later arrested in Surrey by officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit at Cheshire Police.

During the raids, officers seized 13 signature handbags, along with 14 wristwatches worth almost £17,000.

Police seized several cell phones, and during analysis, officers found hundreds of images of stolen items, along with messages containing links to Google maps that corresponded to the location of the thefts.
