Details have emerged from the serious incident recorded yesterday evening in the Qerret area, in Durrës, where a conflict within the family ended with the head of the family committing suicide.
According to preliminary sources, citizen Ardian Varrosi, who was suspected of being drunk, threatened his daughter with a knife, saying he would kill her. It is learned that he had previously exercised physical violence against her. The young woman managed to leave the apartment and sought help from neighbors.
Residents of the area immediately intervened, but the father continued to threaten them as well. Two police patrols arrived at the scene, which made it possible to neutralize the situation and avoid further escalation.
At the time of police intervention, the head of the family is suspected of having stabbed himself in the neck. He was urgently transported to Durres Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention and is under monitoring.
Meanwhile, the investigation group has begun actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident. Family members and witnesses have been questioned, and it is expected that, after his health improves, a statement will be taken from the suspect himself.
