In Belgium, the next session for one of the biggest processes, the "SKY ECC", was held, where among the 40 defendants there are both Albanians and Colombians, accused of international cocaine trafficking.
As "La Libre" writes, the profits reaped by the managers were staggering.
Ten thousand euros for the consul
Investigators were able to determine, based on data gathered thanks to the dismantling of the SKY ECC cryptophone network, that the cocaine was traveling in a diplomatic bag from Paraguay. According to the plans, this "diplomatic route" should be possible every 15 days. The maximum quantity for transport was 100 kg of cocaine per trip, however, it was preferable not to reach this ceiling.
In South America, cocaine was traded at 4,500 euros per kilogram. Once in Brussels, it can be resold for between 25,000 and 30,000 euros, a profit of between 500% and 600%. The information gathered made it possible to determine that when the traffickers received the goods, it was necessary to pay the South American consul, who had been bribed, a sum of 10,000 euros.
For the leaders of the criminal organization, this road seemed very promising, because, if it had not been destroyed, it could have been used for three years, that is, until the next elections in the country of the consul. Some of the Albanians mentioned in this process have been previously identified by the media as Artur S., Indrit. K., Arben I., Alfredo H. or Kosovar Bashkim O., considered among the biggest Albanian players in the cocaine market. In this file, connections with officials in Albania were also discovered, where the corruption of one of them with a 400,000 euro watch is mentioned, while other details are expected to emerge in the following sessions.
