The Border Police in Durrës, as a result of the exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Madrid, finalized the coded operation "Porta". During the operation, the Italian citizen Roberto Basco, 59 years old, was arrested, with the aim of extradition to Spain.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Provincial Court of Madrid, Spain, with the decision dated 19.09.2019, has sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment, for the criminal offense "Trafficking of narcotics", provided by the Criminal Code of Spain. He has 1 year and 5 months of imprisonment left to serve.
On 26.02.2019, at the airport of Madrid, in the suitcases of the citizen Roberto Basco, 7 packages of the narcotic substance cocaine (with a total weight of about 5.6 kg) were found, which he had brought from Colombia, for the purpose of sale. The procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Spain are continuing.
