Albanian arrested in Italy for turning his house into a cocaine lab; drugs and

An Albanian was arrested by the Guardia di Finanza two days ago, accused of possession of narcotics with the intent to traffic and sell them.

The suspect was hiding over a hundred grams of cocaine and bundles of banknotes worth around 70,000 euros in his home in Italy. The raid is part of a wider investigation.

Investigators are maintaining maximum secrecy regarding the drug seizure, as it is part of a wider investigation. However, according to what has been reconstructed, officers from the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza (Financial Police) arrived at the Albanian's home after having kept him under surveillance for some time.

After surrounding the house in Parco Città, the officers forced their way inside. He, taken by surprise, did not resist. At that moment, the Guardia di Finanza carefully searched every room of the house, looking for drugs and money. The dog immediately sniffed out the narcotic substance and the money stored in various areas of the house.

Drugs and cash, believed to be proceeds of illegal activity, were seized. Shqiptar was then taken to the provincial headquarters in Contra' San Tomaso and, after paperwork was completed, transferred to the San Pio X prison.

The arrested person is at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The hearing for the drug verification will be held in the coming hours. The test results will provide investigators with further information to trace the route of drug supply and the type of customers for whom it was intended.

The Guardia di Finanza had also uncovered a drug trafficking den in August, seizing two hundred grams of narcotics that had apparently ended up in the Quadrilatero and Campo Marzo. In that case, a Nigerian national was arrested.
