The identity of the suspected perpetrator of the murder of 26-year-old Albanian Kevin Muharremi in Italy has been revealed.
Italian media report that 20-year-old Renato Xyke , also of Albanian origin and a resident of Santa Maria a Monte, is the person arrested for the serious incident.
According to reports, his escape lasted only a few hours. After the crime, the young man fled in a dark gray Range Rover Evoque, and was stopped by traffic police on the A1 motorway, in the Arezzo section, several hundred kilometers from where the murder took place.
The incident is suspected to have occurred after a conflict in a bar in the Capanne area, in Montopoli Valdarno. According to preliminary investigations, 26-year-old Muharremi was shot in the neck by a bullet fired from an SUV that approached the vehicle he was in.
Authorities are investigating whether there was a pursuit between the two vehicles before the shooting. Meanwhile, it is reported that the suspect was previously known to law enforcement.
Kevin Muharremi lived in Fucecchio, where he worked at a car wash and service station. The suspect in the murder is currently at the disposal of judicial authorities in Pisa, while investigations to fully clarify the circumstances continue.
