An 18-year-old woman was injured by gunfire in a room at the "Gjuta" hotel in the Sauk area of Tirana, an incident recorded on February 14. The young woman was staying at the hotel premises owned by the family of her 22-year-old boyfriend.

Erisjaldo Gjuta stated that he was outside with his father at the time of the shooting. According to him, as soon as they heard the sound of the gun, they quickly went up to the room and found the 18-year-old injured. He claimed that they initially attempted to provide first aid and then transported her to the hospital, after determining her serious health condition.

The weapon used is owned by the 22-year-old and has not been found so far. Preliminary investigations have not revealed any elements that suggest a dynamic other than self-harm. According to the data collected, the 18-year-old has previously attempted to harm herself with medication.

After her arrival at the hospital, police checked security camera footage and located the scene. Authorities subsequently arrested Vladimir Gjuta, the 22-year-old's uncle, and Mirvete Gjuta, his mother, as co-owners of the hotel. They are charged with "Failure to report a crime" and "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth."

Police have announced a search for Sajmir Gjuta, 49, the 22-year-old's father, as well as Elvir Gjuta, 24, his cousin, for the same criminal offenses. Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
