A 51-year-old man in Kamëz has been arrested by police after being caught with a firearm, a pistol, and combat ammunition.
The services of Police Commissariat No. 5 intervened after information that a citizen was carrying firearms in his apartment. During the search of his apartment on “Besim Cera” Street, the officers found a pistol and combat ammunition.
Authorities identified the arrested man with the initials AP, a resident of Kamëz. They seized the weapon and ammunition as material evidence and initiated proceedings for the criminal offense of illegal possession of weapons.
"Kamëz/Another operation against illegal possession of weapons is being finalized within 24 hours. 1 firearm, pistol and combat ammunition are seized. The 51-year-old man who had them hidden in his apartment is arrested in flagrante delicto.
The services of Police Commissariat No. 5, as a result of the immediate administration of the information provided that a citizen was carrying firearms in the apartment, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Tracking".
As part of the operation, citizen AP, 51 years old, resident of Kamëz, was arrested and handcuffed.
"From the search of his apartment, on "Besim Cera" street, the Police services found and seized 1 firearm, a pistol, and combat ammunition, which were possessed without a permit. The procedural materials were passed on to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
