"I did it, I don't care how much the punishment is, I want to pay." These are the words spoken by Marian Pepa, the 52-year-old arrested for the murder of Artan Kaja. Pepa is currently in San Giorgio prison in Luça.
If at first it was thought that 'Tony', as everyone called Artan Kajan, had died of a sudden illness while inside the paper factory in Lunata, over the hours the truth came to light.
The man was killed with a close shot by his compatriot Pepa, whom he had known for years. The killer, according to an initial investigation, had studied in detail the plan to sneak into the factory.
There are many questions that have not yet been clarified regarding the incident, first of all the motive, given that the man, after he had immediately surrendered to the police and accepted responsibility, did not speak again.
The suspicions are that the two compatriots, both residing in Capannori (Lu), would have had various disagreements, both on a personal and professional level.
In recent months, they have also had a fight, exactly in the same place where Kaja was killed. The police have not yet found the weapon of the crime, while Pepa is suspected to have thrown it away a few hours after the murder.
"Disagreement between them? It's normal to have some in a work environment," explains a person who knew the victim, but wishes to remain anonymous.
