Mafia execution of Irakli Davella in Athens, Greek police arrest two Albanians!

Greek police have arrested two people this afternoon who are accused of the murder of Irakli Davella. They are two Albanian citizens, 42 and 43 years old.

Davella was executed at a place called Thrakomaqedhones on December 15, 2024. Albanian citizen Edi Lulo was also seriously injured in the incident.

The double attack occurred a few minutes after 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 15. Irakli Davella and Edi Lulo were in a cafe with at least one other person.

As they were leaving and walking towards their cars, they were attacked. Irakli Davella was shot in the head and died at the scene. Edi Lulo was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe the murderous ambush is a continuation of the "cleansing" that began last May in Byron, with the extermination of a 32-year-old Albanian citizen.

Police officers tasked with the investigation believe it is possible that the victims of the attacks in Byron and Thrakomedones are members of the same criminal organization and are being targeted by a rival gang for control of drug trafficking.

Irakli Davella, 47, was known to the authorities after a case was filed against him and nine others, most of whom were mafia members, in 2011 for the creation of a criminal organization, blackmail and other crimes. Shortly afterwards, his name was included in another case filed by the Corfu Security Police against 17 others for criminal organization, forgery and violation of the law on bad checks.

However, in recent years, he had told relatives, friends and acquaintances that he had distanced himself from crime and that his only activities were the businesses he had in Peristeri and with vehicle rental.
