The structured criminal group, with 26 people who trafficked illegal immigrants from Bangladesh to Albania, operated with two divisions.
The first group dealt with the provision of fictitious contracts and the provision of work visas, while the other group dealt with the passage of illegal immigrants from Albania to Kosovo and then to Serbia, with the final destination being the countries of the European Union.
According to SPAK's investigations started about a year ago, over 250 people from Bangladesh were able to enter Albania in a period of 6 months and were fictitiously employed in the businesses of the 11 people who were arrested, mainly in the fashion industry.
Against the payment of 5,000 euros, they came to Albania following the route from the airports of the United Emirates, and were met in Rinas by the members of the group of traffickers.
SPAK, as the organizer of this group, makes the arrested businessman Endri Seiti a suspect, as according to the investigations it has been found that he used his acquaintances to make fictitious contracts for the immigrant.
As an organizer, SPAK also suspects Luan Tafalla, as according to the investigations it turns out that he appeared in Rinas to receive the immigrants and then accommodated them. Tafalla then contacted the arrested Luan Sulaj, who is suspected of providing transportation through the criminal group of Kukës, to pass the emigrants to Kosovo.
SPAK interceptions have proven that in September 2023, in the premises of a restaurant, Luan Sulaj was found in the company of persons under investigation Luan Tafalla and Endri Seiti and the person under investigation Lulzim Lami. The latter, who is suspected of providing rental contracts for the purpose of justifying the accommodation of foreign citizens, but also as a host for foreign citizens on behalf of a tailoring company.
During this operation, 24 people were arrested and 2 others were declared wanted by order of SPAK, including 4 police officers.
