Numerous citizens gathered this Friday in Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, as part of the 20th consecutive protest, from where they are expected to begin the march towards the Prime Minister's Office building to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Protesters gathered in the center of the capital with banners and calls against the government, while the organizers have described the rally as a continuation of their civic action. According to them, the protest aims to express citizens' dissatisfaction and exert pressure on institutions to reflect on the demands raised.
During his speech to the attendees, activist Arben Kola also addressed the State Police officers involved in the protest. He said that citizens are protesting in their own interest, inviting them not to see the protesters as opponents.
"We are also protesting for you, for your families and for a better future for all citizens," Kola said during his speech.
Meanwhile, organizers have warned that the protest action will not stop with today's rally. They have announced that a national protest will take place tomorrow, where citizens from various cities across the country are expected to participate.
