Four inspectors have been arrested by the police in Durrës, after being accused of abusing their duty to smuggle.
Those arrested recorded false data so that vehicles and containers did not pass for control.
It is learned that Adelino Vila, Alketa Kollçaku, Denis Musaj and Egnis Gojani were arrested. Vila was an assistant control specialist at the Border Police of the port of Durrës. While the other 3 are supervisors of the private company that processes containers in the port of Durrës.
Meanwhile, a driver has been declared wanted, as he falsified the security seals on the containers he was transporting.
"The coded police operation "Synchrony", developed by the Section for Control of Containers of DVP Durres, in cooperation with AMP Durres and the Prosecutor's Office of Durres, is finalized.
They recorded false data, abusing their duties, so that vehicles and containers evaded controls in the PKK and smuggled goods passed, 4 citizens were arrested.
The work continues for the capture of a 56-year-old man, who is suspected of falsifying the security elements (bullets) of the container of the truck he was driving, passing smuggled goods.
Following the intensive actions of the Police, carried out within the framework of the national mega-operation "Rule of Law", against illegalities in any form of their manifestation, the coded police operation "Synchrony" was organized and finalized. As a result of the operation, the following citizens were arrested for the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Computer forgery", carried out in collaboration:
E. Gj., 35 years old, AK, 52 years old and DM, 41 years old, all three acting as supervisory inspectors in the private company that deals with the processing of goods and containers in the port of Durrës, as well as citizen AV, 27 years old, with position of assistant control specialist in the Border Police of the port of Durrës.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that these 4 citizens, abusing their duties, in cooperation with each other, have recorded false data in the computer systems, with the aim of allowing the passage of vehicles and containers transporting smuggled goods without customs control.
Following these actions, DH citizen, 56 years old, was identified and wanted for the criminal offenses of "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms" and "Smuggling of other goods", as he is suspected of forging security seals ( bullets) of the container of the truck he was driving and smuggled goods passed with it. The work for the capture of the DH citizen continues.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions", the police informs.
