The body parts of a man were found yesterday evening, November 14, in the village of Xarre in Saranda. It was the residents who found the body parts buried in the village and immediately notified the police.
After exhuming the body parts, which were still not decomposed, the police sent them to the city morgue, waiting for forensic experts from Tirana who are expected to arrive today.
The main suspicions are that we may be dealing with body parts of Fatmir Sulovar or Leonard Thodhori, who disappeared on April 7, 2023.
It is learned that the part found is the head of a man, which still has soft tissues, and it is thought that the event is from the last few months.
Leonard Thodhori and Fatmir Sulovari (Krasniqi) mysteriously disappeared in April of this year, from Čuka e Saranda.
Investigators suspect that they were kidnapped and then killed. At the time they disappeared, the authorities made checks in Xarre, Vrina and Shëndelli, but were unable to discover their fate.
Thus, on October 30, the police of Fier prevented a serious criminal event and arrested a 29-year-old man, who was caught with 2 bags of artisanal explosives (about 21.3 kilograms), mounted for remote detonation and with canisters with fuel (gasoline), in 2 vehicles.
Albi Mecini was arrested and two of his associates were declared wanted. All three of these shetats, in cooperation with each other, are suspected of being the authors of the kidnapping of Sulovar and Thodhor.
"Following the investigative actions carried out by the Police of Fier, in cooperation with the Police of Vlora, in the function of a criminal proceeding initiated by the DVP Vlora, for the disappearance of citizens Leonard Thodhori and Fatmir Sulovari, disappearance reported to the Police of Saranda, on 09.04.2023, it turned out that the citizen arrested in flagrante delicto, Albi Mecini, with the bags with explosives, is the suspected perpetrator of this case, together with the citizen SL, 25 years old, who was declared wanted", announced the police .
