Dritan Dajti will remain in prison for life.
The Supreme Court has overturned the decision of the Court of Appeal taken on February 8, 2019, which was sentenced to 25 years and left the decision of the Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes at the end with the sentence of life imprisonment. Dritan Dajti killed four police officers in 2009.

Dritan Dajti was initially sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment by the Court of First Instance of Tirana for the criminal offense of murdering businessman Agim Beqa in 1999. The victim had started the construction of a building but he had a conflict with several people.
On the day when his trial was to begin, Dritan Dajti spectacularly escaped from the isolation room of the Court of Tirana, on November 17, 2003, alone. He took a pistol in the toilet of the court, previously placed by his friends.
