The court seizes the assets of Saimir Taullau, Aldo Bare's rival!
Saimir Taullau

The Fier Court has ordered the seizure of the assets of Saimir Taullau and his family, at the request of the Prosecutor's Office. The decision was made by Judge Vladimir Cjapi.

Taullau has previously been investigated during Operation Force of Law, where OFL prosecuted him specifically for unjustified assets suspected of coming from illegal activities.

Saimir Taullau is known in public opinion as an opponent of Aldo Bares, a name previously involved in court proceedings for criminal activity.

Saimir Tuallau is also known as a businessman in the city of Lushnja, and on November 24, 2018, he was assassinated at the Plug roundabout, in front of his bar. The 49-year-old is the brother of Baki Taullau and is listed by the State Police as a person with a previous criminal record. Taullau was also assassinated again in 2017.

The clash with Aldo Bare's gang

The clash between the Taullau family and the group known as Aldo Bare's gang dates back to 1997, a period when this group significantly increased its influence in the city of Lushnja.

According to testimonies given in court over the years, the conflict began after Aldo Bare sought to recruit Saimir Taullau, a member of a family with several businesses in the area, including a gas station, into his group. Taullau's refusal, according to his testimony, was followed by the imposition of fines on the family. In 2005, Baki Taullau was murdered. Saimir Taullau, his brother, testified in court accusing members of Aldo Bare's group as perpetrators, who he said had acted on the latter's orders.

In his 2008 testimony before the court, Saimir Taullau stated that his brother had been repeatedly fined by the criminal group. He claimed that Baki Taullau had repeatedly paid the sums of money demanded by the group, but when he refused to continue making payments, he was killed.

According to the family, one of the main episodes of the conflict was related to a fine of 500 thousand euros, imposed nearly two decades ago. The incident, they say, has not been fully clarified.

Currently, the seizure of the assets of Saimir Taullau and his family by the Fier Court, at the request of the Prosecution, brings this early conflict back into focus, although so far there is no officially confirmed connection between the latest measure and the clash with Aldo Bare's group.
