Shkodra police have cracked down on a case of prostitution, arresting five people and prosecuting another.
Three Colombian women who were practicing prostitution in two rented apartments, as well as two other people involved in this illegal activity, have been arrested. Meanwhile, criminal proceedings have been initiated against the woman who rented the premises to them.
During the operation, authorities seized a sum of money suspected of being derived from prostitution, as well as six mobile phones allegedly used to organize the activity.
"Shkodër / The police operation codenamed "Rent Home 3" is finalized, another prostitution case is cracked down on. Three Colombian citizens who practiced prostitution in two apartments they had rented were arrested.
Two more citizens were arrested for prostitution, and the citizen who had rented the apartments to them was criminally prosecuted. A sum of money, suspected of having been obtained from prostitution, was seized, as well as 6 mobile phones.
Specialists of the Traffic Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Shkodra Police Commissariat, in continuation of their work to crack down on illegalities, based on information obtained through operational means, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Rent Home 3".
As a result of this operation, an apartment was discovered in the "3 Heronjtë" neighborhood, where prostitution was practiced.
As part of the operation, 5 citizens were arrested, caught in the apartment premises, specifically:
Colombian citizens AM, 48 years old, PB, 32 years old and DR, 27 years old, who had rented the apartment and adapted it for the practice of prostitution; -FV, 28 years old, resident of the village of Vermosh, and KG, 24 years old, resident of Bajza.
The materials were also referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen DD, 27 years old, for the criminal offense of "Maintaining premises for prostitution".
"Under the direction of the Prosecution, work continues on fully documenting the case and identifying other citizens who may be involved. The procedural materials were passed on to the Shkodra Prosecution for further action," the police statement said.
