Tepelenë-Gjirokastër-Sarandë drug trafficking group, cooperation

In a short time, they were able to amass fabulous, unjustified wealth. But they also lived a life of unredeemed luxury, until one day everything seemed to fall apart and they ended up behind bars, where they are today.

Perhaps due to certain circumstances, their lives could have followed a more normal course, but that would have been the case if it weren't for the Sky Ecc app, which once again sank them like any criminal group that had entrusted its activities to this very platform.

This seems to be the inglorious end of the drug trafficking group that operated on the Tepelena-Gjirokastër-Saranda axis, throughout the years 2018-2021.

Who not only managed to plant endless hectares of cannabis in this area of Albania, but also to send tons of narcotics towards Greece.

It turns out that state police officers also had a hand in this illegal activity, and it turns out that they were in full service of the leaders of this group. A group whose internal conflicts would later lead not only to its dismantling, but also to a savage war within the group that would culminate in several sensational executions.

But who are the heads of the drug trafficking group in southern Albania and the police officers who had returned to their police station not only in the city, but also on the main axes connecting the area?

How did they take advantage of the pandemic period to transport tons of cannabis from Albania to Greece? But also to other countries in the European Union, even to Spain.

And what are the episodes of this trafficking, broken down through the conversations they had on Sky Ecc, that led law enforcement authorities in Albania, assisted by their Europol partners, to identify and then arrest them.

Where so far, 90 movable and immovable assets have been seized on behalf of this criminal group, based on the illegal profits derived from this drug trafficking. Assets that were in the names of Kristo Qiric, Eldjon Alushaj, or indirectly hidden in other names of their family members or close associates.

Four police officers were also involved in this activity, Ervis Alisinanaj, acting chief of crimes at the Lushnja police, Erdit Hazizaj, who was dismissed from the State Police in 2022, Shkëlzen Ruska, head of the Crime Investigation Section at the Himara Police Station, and Elvis Dervishi, head of the Saranda Border Police Station.

But let's follow in turn all the episodes for which SPAK has created conviction through the intersection of conversations on Sky Ecc and the confrontation with evidence found on the ground, which have led to the arrest of the leaders and members of this criminal group today.

Who, as we said, found the Covid-19 pandemic to be the most appropriate time to act freely and untroubled, to smuggle drugs across the border.

Proceedings that were registered in September 2022, for the criminal offenses of 'Drug Trafficking', carried out in the special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group.

In addition to the Albanian drug trafficking group, it appears that foreign citizens were also collaborators in this criminal activity.

Meanwhile, drug trafficking is carried out not only from Albania to Greece but also towards Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.

But the money was mainly invested in Albania.

Where the leaders of this group, according to SPAK, have turned out to be Kristo Qirici, who also goes by the names Jetmir Hoxha or Jetmir Qirici.

As well as Eldjon Alushaj, whose middle name is Kosta Alushaj.

Albanian and foreign citizens have organized themselves into a structured criminal group and during 2019 and beyond have trafficked significant quantities of narcotics from Latin America to Europe, with the aim of distributing them to EU countries.

From which it emerges that the narcotic substance of the type 'cannabis sativa' was cultivated by this criminal group in the territory of Albania. And they also collaborated or communicated with persons employed by law enforcement agencies in Albania. A group which has simultaneously been active in Albania, Spain, Greece, etc.

Money which they then invested in the purchase of movable and immovable property or in various economic activities. But to understand how this group and their police commissioners functioned, it is of interest to follow some of these episodes of drug trafficking and the conversations they had among themselves on the Sky Ecc platform throughout 2020 and 2021.

One of these episodes is the seizure of a quantity of approximately 1.2 tons of narcotics on March 7, 2020 in Greece. The drugs, which it turns out, had passed through the Qafë Bota border crossing in Saranda on the same day.

Camouflaged inside a caravan where the driver and passenger were posing as Italian day tourists transiting from Albania to Greece.

From the transcripts of the conversations revealed on Sky Ecc, brought by the Greek Ministry of Justice to the Albanian one, it appears that the persons directly interested in this cargo were Kristo Qirici, alias Jetmir Qirici or Hoxha.

Which turns out to be the brother of Edmond Papa, the businessman from Saranda who was executed in Tirana on December 16, 2022. Papa, who at the end of 2019 was registered as a natural person with the activity 'Hotel, coffee bar, import-export of industrial items, beach station', with the place of exercise of the activity, the city of Saranda.

But who also owned the 'Blue Sky' Hotel in this city.

Which, as is now known, was eliminated after another macabre execution that occurred 6 months earlier in Tirana.

Where, as a result of the explosion of an explosive placed under the car he was driving, Aleksandër Sadikaj, known as 'Sanço', was killed.

Executions that later led to a revenge between the parties who until this moment were said to have worked together in drug trafficking between Albania and Greece./ In Target
