A 29-year-old Albanian man, internationally wanted for murder and injury, has been arrested in Belgium with the aim of extradition to Albania.

According to the police, the arrested person is citizen Nasi Hodo, 29 years old , born in Saranda. He was sentenced in 2019 by the Vlora Court to 18 years in prison for the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder" committed in collaboration, "Intentional Murder" remaining in the attempt and "Intentional Light Injury".

The incident he is accused of dates back to July 2017, when in the village of Borsh, Saranda, in collaboration with two other people, he is suspected of stabbing citizen PB and seriously injuring citizen EM, after a conflict over weak motives. He is also accused of injuring another citizen, DK.

Currently, cooperation continues between Interpol Tirana and Belgian authorities to complete the extradition procedures of the 29-year-old to Albania, where he will serve the remainder of his sentence of 13 years, 6 months and 27 days in prison.

"FAST Albania contributes through the ENFAST network, to the localization and capture of citizens on international wanted list. As a result of the rapid exchange of police information, the Belgian Police finalized the operation codenamed "Interaction". A 29-year-old man, convicted by the Vlora Court for murder, committed in collaboration, and wounding, is captured in Belgium.

FAST Albania services, continuing their work to locate and capture wanted citizens, have provided information that a citizen convicted of crimes against the person was hiding in Belgium.

Information was exchanged in real time with Belgian partners, through the ENFAST network and, as a result, within the framework of the coded operation "Interaction", the localization, capture in Belgium and arrest for the purpose of extradition of the citizen:
Nasi Hodo, 29 years old, born in Saranda.

The 29-year-old was wanted internationally, because in 2019, the Vlora Court sentenced him to 18 years in prison for the criminal offenses of "Intentional Murder", committed in collaboration, "Intentional Murder", attempted, and "Intentional Light Injury".

In July 2017, citizen Nasi Hodo, in collaboration with 2 other citizens, killed citizen PB with a cutting tool (knife), and seriously injured citizen EM, during a conflict for weak motives, in the village of Borsh, Saranda.

"The 29-year-old is also the author of the injury of citizen DK. Cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Belgian counterparts continues, to finalize the procedure for the extradition of citizen Nasi Hodo to Albania, in order to serve the remaining part of the sentence, 13 years, 6 months and 27 days of imprisonment," the police announced.
