New footage and evidence have shed light on the tragic event in Argostoli, Kefalonia, where 19-year-old Myrto lost her life. According to forensic expertise, she died as a result of cardiac arrest.
The materials obtained by the Greek police show the moments after her condition deteriorated, while the testimonies shed light on the actions of the young men who were with her.
According to one of the arrested, it all started after the young woman asked to use drugs. "At one point, Myrto told me 'I want to drink,' meaning she wanted to use cocaine," he stated.
He adds that a 26-year-old brought the narcotics and then returned with another quantity.
"He came after about 15 minutes and brought us a bag of cocaine... then he came back again with another amount, because Myrto insisted," said the detainee.
According to him, the girl's condition suddenly worsened. "I saw her having convulsions... I thought she was joking, but she continued and we realized something was wrong ," the 26-year-old confessed.
However, according to investigations, instead of immediately seeking help, it is suspected that the young people tried to cover their tracks.
They took the 19-year-old out of the hotel and dropped her off in a public place, later claiming they didn't know her. When the ambulance arrived, two of them told them they had accidentally found her unconscious.
Meanwhile, another person involved had returned to the room to clean the area and hide evidence.
"I tried to stop her from using cocaine, but she didn't listen to me," he claimed in his testimony.
According to the data, the ambulance was notified by the phone of one of the young men, while their movements after the event do not indicate panic, but rather organized actions to avoid responsibility.
The incident remains under investigation, while three people have been arrested and face charges related to exposure to danger and concealment of evidence.
