The Special Court has announced the verdict for the attempted assassination of Inez Hajrulla and Ervis Matodashaj in Vlora.
The event was to take place on August 8, 2023, but was prevented by the police after the executioner Amarildo Nikolli was arrested.
The defendants in this case are Leonard Luzi and Muharrem Koroveshi.
At the end of the trial, the jury chaired by Bib Ndreca decided that Leonard Luzi should be sentenced to 11 years in prison, but with a shortened trial he was finally sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in prison.
Amarildo Nikolli was sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in prison, but with a shortened trial he was finally sentenced to 2 years and 9 months in prison .
Meanwhile, Muharrem Koroveshi with 10 years in prison, his sentence was reduced by the shortened trial to 6.8 years.
During the reading of the decision, Leonard Luzi lashed out at SPAK representatives with insults and threats.

Leonard Luizi, who allegedly ordered the murder of Inez Hajrulla and Ervis Matodashaj, was extradited from Spain to our country in November 2024.
The 47-year-old was arrested in July of the same year, after the cooperation of our and Spanish authorities. Luzi is accused of ordering the assassination of Inez Hajrulla and Ervis Matodashaj in August 2023, after conflicts over gambling. Leonard Luzi had organized the murder, but the assassination was prevented by the police who arrested the hired killer, Amarildo Nikolli.
