The GJKKO has passed for trial the SPAK file in charge of two people suspected of being involved in the assassination attempt against former Prosecutor Arjan Ndoj, an event that occurred on November 1, 2019, where Andi Maloku, at the time the former prosecutor's driver, lost his life as a result of the shooting.
SPAK prosecutor Adnan Xholi presented the file at the preliminary hearing at the GJKKO, according to which Amar Shkëmbi and Bledar Polovina also participated in the assassination attempt on Ndoja. Judge Bib Ndreca decided to transfer the file to trial.
Amar Shkëmbi was extradited from Dubai to Tirana in October 2025, while he had previously been declared wanted by SPAK.
Shkëmbi, together with Bledar Polovina, Plaurent Dervishaj, Julian Meçaj, and Ariol Halilaj, are suspected of having acted in the form of a "Structured Criminal Group", committing the criminal offenses of "Theft" committed in the special form of collaboration, "Unlicensed Possession of Weapons", "Attempted Murder of Public Officials", "Murder in Other Qualifying Circumstances", these offenses committed in the form of a "Structured Criminal Group" in the event recorded on November 1, 2019, where Andi Maloku was killed and Arjan Ndoja was injured, as well as Aleksandër Laho, otherwise known as "Rrumi i Shijakut".
The defendants in the same criminal case are Endrit Sinani, Genti Nderjaku, Bashkim Haxhia and Julian Pjetri.
The assassination took place in the area known as the Shkozet overpass, when the vehicle driven by Andi Maloku and carrying Arjan Ndoj and Aleksandër Laho, known as "Rrumi i Shijakut", was shot with a barrage of gunfire. As a result of the shooting, Andi Maloku lost his life, while Ndoja and "Rrumi" were injured.
