A serious incident was recorded today in the village of Kuman in Roskovec, where an elderly man killed his wife and then took his own life.
Shefit Rrapaj, aged around 80, shot his wife, Dashuri Rrapaj, aged around 75, inside their apartment. After this act, he also shot himself.
The couple had lived in this village for about two decades, having moved from Levan in Berat. They had seven children, three daughters and four sons. Most of them live abroad, while one of the sons lived with his parents.
After the incident, the police accompanied the boy who lived in the apartment to the police station to provide clarification on the circumstances.
The records show that there had been ongoing conflicts in the family. Four days before the incident, the police had gone to the apartment to intervene and calm the situation between the spouses.
About ten years ago, the elderly man had attempted to end his life with a gun.
Authorities are continuing their actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
