A 37-year-old Albanian man has been sentenced to 19 years in prison after being accused of murdering his 3-month-old son in the UK.
Klevi Pirjani was found guilty by the court for the baby's death, while his wife, Nivalda Santos Pirjani, 35, was sentenced to 15 years and 3 months in prison.
The incident took place in November 2024 in Liverpool. Initially, the parents stated that the baby, Miguel Pirjani, had stopped breathing and was found unconscious in the apartment. However, investigations revealed that the circumstances were much more serious.
According to BBC reports, forensic expertise revealed that the child had suffered a fractured skull and numerous injuries to the body, which were allegedly inflicted continuously during the weeks before death.
The prosecution emphasized that the baby was fully under the care of his parents, but they not only failed to protect him, but became responsible for his death.
Even police authorities described the case as extremely shocking, underlining that severe violence had been inflicted on a defenseless baby, without any credible explanation from the parents.
