New details from the investigation into the self-immolation of 41-year-old Bedrie Loka in Durrës have come to light.
On January 3, when the 41-year-old woman died in the hospital, sources indicate that before her body was handed over to her family, outside the QSUT morgue, a conflict occurred between the brothers of Bedrie Loka and their son-in-law, Xhemal Loka.
The brothers wanted to take the body of the deceased and bury it themselves, since from the first moments they suspected that Xhemal Loka was responsible for driving their sister to suicide.
The verbal conflict even escalated to a physical collision, but even after all this fight, Bedria was buried by her husband's family. Bedrija's brothers went to their sister's funeral, but did not enter Xhemal Loka's apartment to receive people for condolences after the funeral.
But, two days after the incident, Bedrije's brothers went to the police and declared that their sister did not die from the story of "TikTok" and that she was killed by the physical and psychological violence of her husband and his family members, leading her to commit suicide. This testimony of the brothers opened a new track of investigations and the event was revealed.
The conflicts in the Loka family and the violence against Bedrie were early and had continued systematically for many reasons.
The family of Sanije Loka from Peshkopia, mother of 5 children, one of whom was Xhemal Loka, moved from Peshkopia to the village of Vardardhë in Sukth many years ago. Bedria and her husband Xhemal Loka built a 2-story house, while Sanija and her other son rented in Kodër village. Bedria's mother-in-law insisted that she and the other son's children, who were abandoned by their mother, take the second floor of the house. Such a request had added to the mother's words towards her son, against her daughter-in-law, and every time Xhemali returned from court, quarrels and arguments started in the family, up to physical violence. Even to insults to honor.
Sources also inform that they also stole money from Bedrie's apartment, about 40,000 euros, but it has not yet been clarified who took the money from Bedrie Loka's house.
